Trying to circumvent the subscription fees of dating sites is something that has a certain appeal to it, at least for me.
Google is our friend, but I think that even a mention of google is probably edited out.
I for instance, put quotation marks around a part of my profile, which, if googled (in quatations), will hit my blog.
My line is "I love God, Life and Calvin and Hobbes" - In quotations. The only thing in my entire profile that is in quotations.
If we spread the word silently, we might manage something.

Kestell, is your grandfather Harry Laurie, son of Joan Henderson Laurie of Scotland? I am a US relative trying to track down my cousins overseas.
My grandfather's full names were Henri de Guise Laurie.
His father was Dirk Pieter Laurie and i don't know his mother's name...
He was definitely a descendent from scotland, but not first generation. We (the afrikaans speaking Lauries) came to south africa roughly six generations ago ~1850. The Laurie was a sailor en route to New Zealand (I think, might have been Aus), and they stopped in Cape Town for repairs of the ship. During this time (6-10 months) he met and married our ancestral matriarch. She had her first child on the ship towards New Zealand. She had several other children while living in New Zealand, but he died a couple of years later, so she returned to South Africa.
Die-lauries.blogspot.com has a photo of his tombstone.
In short... we may be related in a tangential way, but probably not.
